Buttermere Lake
Buttermere Lake

Taken from the north-western side of the lake near the little village of Buttermere, it is one of the smallest lakes in the Lake District and regularly voted has having the countries most favourite views, one possible origin for the name Buttermere meaning "the lake by the dairy pastures" Surrounded by fells this view looks south-east towards Fleetwith Pike and Haystacks.
