St Ninian's Bay
St Ninian's Bay

St Ninian's Bay is situated on the west side of the Isle of Bute and slightly south of Ettrick Bay, a pretty horseshoe-shaped bay also known as The Straad is covered with white cockle shells. Looking across the bay towards the majestic peaks of the Isle of Arron is St Ninian's point, a spit of land that is cut off from the mainland during spring tides, two cottages and the ruined 6th-century Ninian's Chapel stand isolated in this wild and rugged place.
